Suat KINIKLIOGLU, AK Party Cankiri Deputy and Deputy Chairman of External Affairs, spoke at the Atlanta Alliance of Civilizations conference organized by the Istanbul Center and Kennesaw University on 30-31 January 2009.

The conference was honored by messages from Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), State Minister Mehmet Ali Aydin, Jorge Sampaio, Head of the Alliance of Civilizations Project in the UN and Senator Jonny Isakson. The conference was also attended by Suat Kiniklioglu and Cuneyt Yuksel, AK Party deputies along with many academicians from different countries, Daniel Papp, Head of Kennesaw State University and Tarik Celik, Head of the Istanbul Center.

KINIKLIOGLU conveyed Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ERDOGAN’s message to the conference. He maintained that Turkey’s re-integration policy with its neighbors was not an alternative to its western orientation but rather, had a complementary nature. KINIKLIOGLU underlined that Turkey’s mediation role between Israel and Syria would continue.
