Chairman of the Turkish-American Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Suat KINIKLIOGLU, gave explanations to TGRT News prior to voting of Armenian Resolution at U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs.
In his explanation, KINIKLIOGLU said “If the American side decides to bring into agenda the issues of a small ethnical diaspora in a way to damage America’s national interests, this will definitely have implications just like our President of Republic and Prime Minister implied. If the ethnical diaspora politics is to surpass national interests of America, then we will give the necessary response suitable to Turkey’s status.”
KINIKLIOGLU also drew attention to the voting of previous years clarifying “Voting for such drafts in previous years has resulted with greater margins such as 30-5, 41-3. Today we will have a tight vote. This illustrates that the American side began to realize the sensitivity of the issue as well as the importance attributed to it by our side.”
