Turkey - U.S. Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Caucus under the chairmanship of Suat KINIKLIOGLU organized a press conference at the Turkish Embassy in Washington about the meetings in Washington.

KINIKLIOGLU said that three main topics were emphasized in the meetings. Developments in Turkey after the referendum of September 12, Turkey’s no vote in the UN Security Council on sanctions against Iran and tension after the Mavi Marmara attack in Turkish – Israel relations constituted the agenda.

KINIKLIOGLU stated that Turkey did not want Iran to acquire nuclear capacity which coincides with U.S. objectives on this matter. He said the no vote by Turkey in the UN Security Council and the Mavi Marmara incident were used against Turkey by some circles in the U.S.
